Innovative Flame-Retardant Gear by UF PRO

UF PRO has unveiled its latest addition to the high-performance flame-retardant clothing lineup—the Striker FR Gen.2 Battle Dress Uniform.
Tailored for law enforcement and military operators, the Striker FR Gen.2 BDU significantly minimizes the risk of severe injuries from flames and intense heat.
UF PRO takes great pride in its collaboration with Schoeller Textil AG, leveraging their groundbreaking pyroshell™ technology in the Striker FR Gen.2 BDU. pyroshell™, renowned for its comfort, and active protection capabilities, transforms conventional materials susceptible to fire into non-burning layers when exposed to heat, preventing flammable fibers from catching fire.
This breakthrough technology enables UF PRO to offer exceptional flame protection while ensuring wearer comfort and maintaining fabric properties. In pyroshell™, Schoeller bonds conventional nylon and material with stretch properties, infusing graphite into the middle adhesive layer to provide desired flame-retardant qualities. The graphite, an excellent conductor of heat and electricity, swells through the fabric when exposed to heat, creating a non-burning layer that shields flammable fibers from direct exposure.
In order to thoroughly test the protection level of the garment, UF PRO conducts the Thermo Man test method—a 3-second flashover test employing a sensor-equipped mannequin.
Unlike traditional tests, Thermo Man assesses the entire garment systematically. Conducted by the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology – EMPA and equipped with sensors, a mannequin dressed in UF PRO’s gear collects critical data, unveiling potential injury levels in a real-life scenario. These tests were conducted before the garment’s debut, providing conclusive results that underscore its exceptional protective capabilities.
